Dry Needling
Dry Needling is the use of acupuncture needles in areas of muscle tightness referred, to as trigger points.
A trigger point can be thought of as a tight nodule or band within a muscle belly which causes pain, muscle weakness or twitching. The trigger point is not always in the same area of the body as the symptoms appear.
Dry Needling treats this by causing a reflex blood flow and histamine reaction which encourages repair cells to the area.

You do not need a referral to receive Dry Needling. It is often offered as a treatment within a Physiotherapy consultation.
